About Us

What We Teach

1. The Scriptures

The Bible, divinely inspired, is God’s true and trustworthy revelation, serving as the supreme standard for faith and conduct. All Scripture testifies to Christ, the focus of divine revelation.

2. Trinity

God is the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving Creator, existing as one God in three persons: The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

A. God the Father

God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and all-wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.

B. God the Son

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.

C. God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Saviour, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

3. Man

Humans, created in God’s image, were originally sinless but fell through disobedience, becoming sinners in need of redemption. Only God’s grace can restore humanity to fellowship with Him.

4. Salvation

Salvation is offered freely through faith in Jesus Christ, through Christ’s atoning death and resurrection. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Christ as Lord. By Christ the sinner is justified, through the Holy Spirit one is regenerated and all will walk in sanctification, leading to glorification.

5. God’s Purpose of Grace

God’s grace elects believers for salvation, ensuring their perseverance, while those who reject Christ remain accountable for their sin.

6. The Church

The church, a local body of baptized believers, is autonomous and governed by qualified male pastors (elders) and deacons who lead the congregation, with Christ as its head. It observes [believers] baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances.

7. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Baptism by immersion symbolizes a believer’s faith in Christ’s death and resurrection, serving as a prerequisite for membership in the church. The Lord’s Supper commemorates Christ’s sacrifice, observed by believers as an act of obedience.

8. The Lord’s Day

The first day of the week is set apart for worship, rest, and spiritual growth, commemorating Christ’s resurrection. It is a regular practice for Christian devotion.

9. The Kingdom

God’s kingdom is His sovereign reign, already present in the church and to be fully realized at Christ’s return. Believers are called to advance the kingdom through righteous living and evangelism [Great Commission].

10. Last Things

Christ will return visibly to judge all people, sending the unrighteous to eternal punishment in Hell and the righteous to eternal reward in Heaven. God will bring the world to its appointed end in His time.

11. Evangelism and Missions

Christians are commanded to share the gospel and make disciples of all nations, fulfilling the Great Commission. Evangelism is a duty rooted in love for God and others.

12. Education

Christian education integrates biblical truth with learning, equipping believers to understand and defend their faith. It begins in the home and extends through church and institutions.

13. Stewardship

Believers are stewards of God’s gifts, including time, talents, and resources, giving sacrificially to support the church and advance God’s kingdom. All creation belongs to God, and stewardship reflects trust in Him.

14. Cooperation

Baptists within the Canadian National Baptist Convention cooperate voluntarily through churches, associations, and conventions to fulfill the Great Commission, maintaining local church autonomy. Cooperation is based on shared doctrine and mission.

15. The Christian and the Social Order

Christians have a responsibility to be light in the dark and apply Christian ethics and values in all spheres of life.

16. Peace and War

Christians should pursue peace, oppose war except as a last resort, and pray for God’s will in conflicts. Righteous living contributes to societal harmony.

17. Religious Liberty

God alone is Lord of conscience, and religious liberty is a fundamental right for all, free from state coercion. Baptists uphold soul competency and the priesthood of all believers.

18. The Family

Marriage is a lifelong union between one man and one woman, with distinct biblical roles for husbands and wives. Parents are responsible for raising children in faith, and families reflect God’s design.
